Naira recovers against dollar at official window




The Nigerian currency, the naira, gained ground against the American dollar at the official window on Monday, June 16, 2025.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Foreign exchange data, the naira closed at N1,544.62/$1 as against the N1,549.36/$1 it traded on Friday, June 13, 2025.

This represents a gain of N4.73 for the local currency against the American greenback.

On the black market, the naira gained N10 against the dollar to trade at N1,600/$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,610/$1.

The naira closed flat against the British Pound to trade at N2,160/£1 same as the previous day’s rate of N2,160/£1.

The naira closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,200/CA$1, same as the previous day’s rate of N1,200/CA$1.

The naira closed flat against the Euro to trade at ₦1,800/€1 the same as the previous day’s rate of ₦1,800/€1.
